Over the River and Through the Woods . . .

To Grammy and PaPa's house we go!

Because of airline ticket costs and not being excited about lugging strollers, carseats, diaper bags, and luggage around the crazy holiday airports we chose to drive to Minnesota for Christmas. From Arkansas to Minnesota is about a 13 hour drive and can be even more with snow so for Liam's sake we split it up over 2 days. Aunt Lucy came with us and was a huge help with Liam!

Day one went smoothly and Liam slept and played just fine in his car seat for the majority of the 7 hour drive to Kansas City. Of course we stopped about every 3 hours for a little break. The only trouble we had was about 15 minutes from our hotel for the night when Liam decided he had had enough of the car and wanted to scoot around.

We unpacked and had dinner at the steakhouse across the street then tucked Liam into his hotel crib, then tucked him in again, then tucked him in again, then again, and again . . . he did not want to go to sleep and since we couldn't turn on his music and shut his door it was harder for him to concentrate on going to sleep and easier for him to concentrate on playing peekaboo through the crib, or laughing at our feet moving under the covers.
Day two was a shorter trip and after our free continental breakfast we were ready to go. I was a little concerned about how Liam would handle day two, but it was all brand new to him again and he did even better than the day before. Little did he know his reward for being such a good boy would be a very excited Grammy and PaPa (and Uncle Bebo) to see their little peanut!
