Liam's First Snow!

On February 1st we got the most beautiful snow, okay, the most beautiful snow for Arkansas! The snowflakes were so big and pretty. Will noticed that it was snowing so I brought Liam to the window immediately to look out (we do this often when it's raining and he likes to see it coming down) Liam got the biggest smile when he saw the snow coming down. Five minutes later we were in our scarves and jackets and outside in the backyard. Liam just loved it, he looked up, he looked down, he saw snowflakes on his coat and on his hands. When we went back inside he crawled over to the window to look out at the snow some more.

Of course yesterday was the 6th and the high was 68 here. The warmth definitely gave me spring fever, but the snow was fun while it lasted!

toys, toys, toys!

Here are some shots of Liam playing with more of his Christmas presents. His birthday is right around the corner and then it's even more toys! He sure is a sweet boy even with all the spoiling he gets. Lately he's been pulling up on everything he can and walking circles around the coffee table. He's not walking on his own yet, but if something's an arms reach away he'll hop over to it and get around most of the living room that way. He's a pretty fast crawler and before I know it he'll be down the hallway headed for one of the bedrooms. The kitchen is his favorite because he can slide around on the floor and because there's so many cabinets for him to open!

Christmas in Minnesota!

We spent a week in Minnesota for Christmas, and while there was no snow it was plenty cold! Liam's first visit from Santa didn't dissappoint, he had his first in a long line of spoilings. From his animal train to his piano to his Monkey chair to books upon books upon books. Grammy and PaPa kept it going with gifts under the tree too! These photos were the only ones I had on my camera, but PaPa and Uncle Bebo took more and once I get them I'll post or you can ask Grammy to email them to you.

After a week of good eating, sleeping late, family and friend visiting and present opening it was very hard to get back in the car for 13 hours on the road (we split it on the way home too).

Over the River and Through the Woods . . .

To Grammy and PaPa's house we go!

Because of airline ticket costs and not being excited about lugging strollers, carseats, diaper bags, and luggage around the crazy holiday airports we chose to drive to Minnesota for Christmas. From Arkansas to Minnesota is about a 13 hour drive and can be even more with snow so for Liam's sake we split it up over 2 days. Aunt Lucy came with us and was a huge help with Liam!

Day one went smoothly and Liam slept and played just fine in his car seat for the majority of the 7 hour drive to Kansas City. Of course we stopped about every 3 hours for a little break. The only trouble we had was about 15 minutes from our hotel for the night when Liam decided he had had enough of the car and wanted to scoot around.

We unpacked and had dinner at the steakhouse across the street then tucked Liam into his hotel crib, then tucked him in again, then tucked him in again, then again, and again . . . he did not want to go to sleep and since we couldn't turn on his music and shut his door it was harder for him to concentrate on going to sleep and easier for him to concentrate on playing peekaboo through the crib, or laughing at our feet moving under the covers.
Day two was a shorter trip and after our free continental breakfast we were ready to go. I was a little concerned about how Liam would handle day two, but it was all brand new to him again and he did even better than the day before. Little did he know his reward for being such a good boy would be a very excited Grammy and PaPa (and Uncle Bebo) to see their little peanut! Posted by Picasa
